Biography

Adam TM Wyatt, Ph.D. is an Associate Professor of Social Medicine in the Department of Population Health and Social Medicine and also oversees the Office of Program Evaluation and Assessment which supports the medical education research, scholarship, and evaluation programs of the undergraduate medical education (MD) program.

Dr. Wyatt earned his Bachelor of Arts in French and Master of Education in Postsecondary Administration and Student Affairs degrees from the University of Southern California. (Fight On!) He earned his Doctor of Philosophy in Higher Education with an emphasis on organizational strategy and management and cognate in international policy from the Louise McBee Institute of Higher Education at the University of Georgia. (Go Dawgs!) He returned to UGA to complete a Master of Environmental Planning and Design in which he focused on studying built environments for professional and graduate learning in developing economies.

Prior to joining Florida Atlantic University, Dr. Wyatt served as the Associate Vice President for Academic Affairs and an Assistant Professor of Education Research at Augusta University (home to the Medical College of Georgia). There, he oversaw the university's academic program portfolio, the implementation of data science-informed student success initiatives, and high-impact practice areas such as study abroad, undergraduate research, and first- and second-year experiences.

Dr. Wyatt is passionate about medical education research along the continuum, which he defines as undergraduate college through professional practice, and uses this passion to inform his three main areas of research activities: competency development in longitudinal integrated clerkship models; the integration of data science in the medical education continuum; and the role of the arts and humanities in professional identify formation with a particular emphasis on film and theatre.
