Biography
Stacy Rubin, M.D., FACP, is the FAU College of Medicine’s (FAUCOM) Director of the Foundations of Medicine Curriculum and an Associate Director of FAU’s Office of Interprofessional Education and Practice. Dr. Rubin teaches primarily first- and second-year medical students, helping them translate what they learn in the classroom into patient care. Prior to coming to FAU, Dr. Rubin served as Associate Program Director for the University of Miami’s Regional Internal Medicine Residency Program at Holy Cross Health (UM@HCH) for six years. At UM@HCH, Dr. Rubin also was the founding Program Director of the University of Miami’s only Transitional Year Residency Program. Dr. Rubin has a passion for Academic General Internal Medicine and has special interests in women’s health, teaching clinical and communication skills, simulation, promoting women in medicine, and advocating for persons identifying as underrepresented minorities, having lobbied with the American College of Physicians at the State and Federal levels. She is a graduate of the Society of General Internal Medicine’s prestigious TEACH Scholars program and has served in various roles on the Florida Chapter of the American College of Physicians Governors’ Advisory Board. Dr. Rubin was recently recognized as the 2023-2024 FAU Distinguished Teacher of the Year, an FAUCOM Instructor of the Year for 2022-2023, and will be inducted into the Arnold P. Gold Humanism Honor Society in April 2024. Dr. Rubin is also a member of Alpha Omega Alpha Medical Honor Society.
Dr. Rubin is board-certified in Internal Medicine. She received her bachelor’s degree from the University of Florida and her medical degree from the University of Miami Miller School of Medicine. She completed a residency and chief residency at Jackson Memorial Hospital in Miami, where she received accolades for her education and teaching efforts.
